The heartbroken friends of an 18-year-old who died in a horror car accident have shared an emotional letter dedicated to their mate as he was laid to rest.
Lachlan Lethbridge was struck by a truck when it veered in front of him while he was driving on the Gore Highway in Southbrook, Queensland on June 28.
During his funeral on Friday, Lethbridge’s heartbroken friends shared how they would always ‘have a spot for him around the campfire’ and described their late mate as ‘one in 10,000’.

Lachlan’s coffin arrived at his funeral in Maryborough on the back of his ute and was then carried into the chapel by his closest friends.
Damien Blythe spoke at the funeral, delivering a beautiful tribute to the teen, according to the .
‘He was a quiet young man and never boasted about his achievements,’ Mr Blythe said.
‘He loved his family.
He would not allow any mistreatment of his friends.
‘He would often see the good in people no other people did.’

Workmates also shared their memories of Lachlan, and his boss said that his maturity and respect was priceless and incredibly hard to come by.
Lachlan began working at a cotton farm when he was 17, and he was quickly singled out as ‘one in 10,000’ for his hard work and ability, with his boss and workmates speaking glowingly of the young man.
